Student Assistance


The Commonwealth Student Assistance Program (SAP) involves teams within the school system to identify and remove barriers to learning.  Student Assistance Program Prevention Specialist are available to each of the seven public school districts in Butler county and to non-public schools. 

 

Student Assistance Program Prevention Specialists\Liaisons provide:

  • Professional consultation to school Core Teams and families.

  • Pre-assessments or screenings for mental health and drug and alcohol issues.

  • Support and collaboration with the schools Core Team in order to make referrals.

  • Follow-up services.

  • Educational support groups.

  • Prevention activities

  • Post-ventions after a death in the school community.

  • Crisis services for individual students.
